How It WorksThe Health-O-Scope utilizes solar houses and planetary rulerships of the signs. Take advantage of the Health-O-Scope’s ongoing reports:
The Health-O-Scope emphasizes health and wellness, and the effects of particular celestial events such as a new moon, full moon, eclipse, lunar aspect, major planetary combination, major retrograde, and planetary station. The sample provided here only points out a few major events for each sign in September 2006. Take advantage of information on Mars and Saturn as they make their rounds through the solar chart. By knowing the house positions of Mars and Saturn in your solar houses, you will be aware of the areas of the body receiving stress so you can take proper precautions accordingly -- this is one case where forearmed is forewarned. Mars can describe areas of over-activity, irritation, heat and tension in the body; Saturn can describe an area of the body that needs pampering, is under-active, cold and undernourished. Below you will find 3 examples of Saturn in the solar houses. The full edition of the Health-O-Scope will list Saturn’s movement through all 12 houses of the solar chart, also taking into account seasonal changes and the effects of retrograde motion. Saturn in the Houses: A Sample for Three SignsGemini: Saturn in the 3rd Solar House Saturn will remain in your third house until September 2, 2007. The third house is associated with the lungs and respiratory system. This would be a good time to give up smoking. Saturn gives discipline and the third house is a mental house so you may find you have the willpower and desire to stop smoking now. The respiratory system can be weak with Saturn here. Herbs such as skullcap, eucalyptus and rosemary are aids to the respiratory system. Cinnamon is a helpful anti-flu remedy. Honey can be used in hot tea for a cold. Saturn in the third house is sometimes associated with depression or mental lethargy. There are many remedies to stimulate the mind and avoid depression. Clove tea combined with peppermint or chamomile can help lift the spirits. Ginseng can be an effective tonic and pick me up. Brazil nuts stimulate mental energy. Leo: Saturn in the 1st Solar House Saturn will remain in your first house until September 2, 2007. This is a time of new beginnings and is an excellent time to get into shape or go on the diet. Legend has it that Saturn in the first house tends toward leanness. This time could also coincide with having plastic surgery with Saturn’s rulership of the skin and bones influencing the first house of physical appearance. Saturn is known for discipline so this is one time you can’t ignore your body. Past neglect can catch up with you now as poor skin tone and a lack of muscle firmness. Other possible effects of Saturn in the first house could be joint pain that can be helped by apple cider vinegar compresses, ginger compresses or arnica lotion. There is a need to limber up to avoid stiffness – massage oils made from calendula, chamomile, lavender, rosemary and eucalyptus would be helpful as well as stretching exercises and yoga. Plan a visit to your dentist as any dental problems should be taken care of now. Capricorn: Saturn in the 8th Solar House Saturn will remain in your eighth house until September 2, 2007. The 8th house is associated with the eliminative and reproductive organs of the body. There can be a sluggishness in the colon area at this time leading to constipation which can be helped by increasing fiber in the diet and avoiding starchy foods. Soaked dried fruits, apples, carrots, black figs, whole grains, psyllium seed tea all help to prevent constipation. Reproductive health can be affected by Saturn’s placement in the 8th house. For males, bee pollen is considered important in maintaining sexual health. Eating fresh mushrooms which contain zinc either in a soup or salad is also helpful for the prostate. Also useful for the health of the prostate are pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds. Helpful herbs for females include red raspberry, uva ursi and fo ti. Mars and Saturn TogetherWhile a complete cycle of Mars is approximately 2.5 years, Saturn takes about 28 years to go through the entire zodiac. The impact of these two important planets needs to be considered in the light of the duration of their cycles. Because Mars’s cycle is relatively short, the Health-O-Scope will note the house occupancy of Mars as it changes signs in the individual calendar for each sign. Watching the movement of Mars and Saturn through the houses is an important step in avoiding potential problems. Have your own chart ready, and check to see which area each planet is visiting. Use the Health-O-Scope as your daily barometer to good health. Take control! The Major Aspect(s) of the Month For all signs: Jupiter square Neptune Note: This is general information for the population as a whole and does not apply to any one individual. A major combination for September 2006 is Jupiter in Scorpio square Neptune in Aquarius. Jupiter—Neptune can be a toxic combination so it can be a good time to go on a detoxifying diet. One could use ginger tea to help in detoxifying the body. The signs of Jupiter and Neptune can be useful in pointing out the parts of the body that need to be detoxified—Jupiter is associated with the liver and Neptune is associated with the immune system—so possibly a liver tonic that also includes foods to build up the immune system should be used. Two useful herbs to tone the liver are Oregon grape root and milk thistle. The liver is also helped by foods such as zucchini, carrots and apples. The immune system can be strengthened by juices made from green peppers, watercress, beets, oranges, lemons and carrots. There is a listlessness about the energy of Jupiter and Neptune and a feeling of ennui. There can be a tendency to overeat rich foods leading to stomach or intestinal disorders. It can be difficult for alcoholics or those addicted to drugs during this time as there can be a lack of willpower and an inability to face reality. Be careful around gas or fumes or chemicals. Be sure to use proper ventilation when using cleaning products or any product containing chemicals. Keep windows open and keep your body covered in case of spillage by using a protective apron and safety gloves. Double check prescriptions and read labels carefully before ingesting an unfamiliar food. There can even be allergic reactions to familiar foods at this time. There can also be adverse reactions to smog and irritants in the air leading to respiratory disorders. General respiratory disorders can be helped by herbs such as thyme, peppermint leaves, wild cherry bark and eucalyptus. Healing oils such as essence of bergamot or camphor oil can be rubbed on the chest to aid in respiratory disorders. Eclipse energyThere are two eclipses in September,
a lunar eclipse in Pisces on September 7 and a solar eclipse in Virgo
on September 22. These can be times of hectic activity and increased pressure
in personal affairs. Stressful events can occur. Positively, solar eclipses
can bring new beginnings. The lunar eclipse can give an increase of emotional
energy. Stress can be relieved from physical exercise and herbs such as
chamomile, hops and vervain. Bananas, mushrooms and olives are stress-reducing
foods. See the signs Virgo on September 22 and Pisces on September 7 for
additional information.
